As you may already have guessed by now, my name is Jason Deegan. I recently worked as a marketing operations specialist for Easee, here in Stavanger. Alongside this I also recently completed my PhD at the University of Stavanger I defended my dissertation on the 17th of March. My dissertation is titled: Regional transformation; between policy intervention and knowledge dynamics?
My supervisors were Tom Broekel, Rune Dahl Fitjar and Silje Haus-Reve. Prior to beginning my PhD, I received my Master of Public Policy from University College Dublin, and I hold a Bachelor in Marketing from Technological University of Dublin.

Dr. Jason Deegan holds a PhD in Innovation and Regional Studies from the University of Stavanger. A graduate of the Masters in Public Policy program from University College Dublin and received his Bachelors in Marketing from the Technological University of Dublin.
Jason has considerable industry experience prior to beginning his PhD. He began his career as the Marketing Coordinator for Emerging Markets for the Swiss publishing company Ringier and focused on growth in Sub-Saharan African markets. In more recent years his professional experience has seen the leadership of communication and organisational development projects in a number of markets around the world.
Jason has enjoyed considerable success in publishing original research in highly regarded international journals thus far in his PhD journey, with his first paper from his PhD published in Economic Geography, and focused on European smart specialisation policy, and his second published in Growth and change and focused on Entrepreneurial discovery in western Norway.
