Apple Quietly Launches Exciting iOS 26 Beta 1 Update – Check What’s New!

Just a few days after the WWDC 2025 keynote, Apple quietly updated the first developer beta of iOS 26 to a new version, subtly labeled as version 1bis. Although a minor revision, it’s an interesting move that may hint at significant tweaks behind the scenes.

A Fresh Update!

Originally released on June 9 with the build number 23A5260n, the first beta of iOS 26 was soon replaced by an updated version, 23A5260u (changing n to u), without any release notes or detailed mentions. Apple has not commented on whether this includes bug fixes or new features.

This stealthy update began showing up on some devices as early as June 12, just three days after the initial release of the beta. This is not a Beta 2, but rather a minor patch rolled out in the background.

While Apple remains tight-lipped, such intermediate updates are not uncommon in early testing phases.

It likely addresses certain bugs (maybe it’s a fix for CarPlay?). Another possible reason: several developers reported early issues with rapid battery drainage on the initial beta (I’m charging my phone three to four times a day…), which this update might aim to urgently correct.

Based on some feedback, the update could also include:

Stability fixes for specific iPhone models or A17/A18 Pro chips.

Internal adjustments related to the developer testing environment or software signing.

Visual or functional tweaks for new iOS 26 features, such as Liquid Glass, the new dynamic interface, or certain Apple Intelligence features like live translation or contextual visual recognition.
