A Clean, Focus-Driven Interface
This dedicated version of Google Calendar for the Apple Watch features a weekly view of your schedule, presented as colorful cards that outline upcoming events and tasks. Each card displays the time, title of the event or task, and any associated location.
A tap on an item reveals more details, however, creating or editing events directly from the watch app is not yet possible. A prompt suggests opening the Google Calendar app on your iPhone for full functionality.
With this release, Google also introduces two new complications compatible with watchOS faces and the Smart Stack:
• What’s next
: available in either circular or rectangular formats, this complication shows your next appointment. Tapping on it takes you to the event in the watch app.
• Today’s date
: a minimalist circular complication that displays the current date and acts as a shortcut to the application.
A Step Forward for Google’s Integration on the Apple Watch
Until now, only Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Google Keep had native apps on the Apple Watch. With the addition of Google Calendar, Google is addressing a significant gap for iPhone users who rely on its services daily. This move also puts some distance between Google Calendar and Apple’s own Calendar app, which isn’t performing at its best.
The version 25.24.1 of Google Calendar with support for the Apple Watch is now available on the App Store. This is great news for Google fans who wanted better integration within the Apple ecosystem without sacrificing productivity.
