With the rollout of iOS 26, Apple Music for Android is also gearing up for a significant update. The upcoming version 5.0.0, which is currently in beta testing, introduces some handy new features and several design tweaks inspired by Liquid Glass.

Visual Tweaks
Android users will have to wait a bit longer to experience the new Liquid Glass interface. The bottom navigation bar and the controls for the Now Playing screen remain unchanged.
However, the app does receive some aesthetic modifications, with the introduction of pill-shaped buttons replacing the rounded rectangles. The shuffle, repeat, and autoplay options in the queue, as well as the Play and Shuffle buttons on album pages, now feature this new style. It’s important to note that there have been no changes made to the home screen widgets.
User-Centric Enhancements
One of the highlights of this version is the ability to pin your favorite tracks, albums, playlists, or artists to the top of your library. These pins also sync across your other Apple devices, although it might be necessary to select/deselect an item to refresh everything.
From the Library tab, a long press allows you to manage pins and choose a default action (such as accessing the album, playing, or shuffling). Pinned songs can also be set to automatically download, a setting that can be turned on or off in the preferences.
The home page of this update also showcases two new features: Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation (to help understand and sing along in multiple languages) and Replay in the app (to easily review your listening stats, month by month and at the end of the year, without needing to visit an external site).
With this beta of Apple Music 5.0 on Android, Apple continues to strive for a more seamless experience across all platforms, even though full graphical parity may still be on the horizon.
