Apple Unveils Limited-Edition Snake AirTag in Japan: Grab Yours Now!

Apple has unveiled a new limited edition AirTag to mark the Year of the Snake, beginning in 2025. This special edition, inscribed with a snake pattern, will be exclusively available to the first 50,000 customers who purchase select iPhone models from January 2 to January 5, 2025. This promotion is part of an annual marketing campaign that Apple runs in Japan.

Gift Cards Up to 30,000 Yen

In addition, Apple is offering gift cards worth up to 30,000 yen (approximately 190 USD) with the purchase of selected products. The exact value of the card depends on the product purchased. Here are the main offers:

  • MacBook Air (M2 or M3 chips): up to 30,000 yen.
  • iPad Pro, iPad Air, or iPad (10th generation): up to 15,000 yen.
  • iPhone 14, iPhone 15, or iPhone SE: up to 11,000 yen.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2, Series 10, or SE: up to 11,000 yen.
  • AirPods Max, AirPods Pro 2, or AirPods 4: up to 12,000 yen.

The gift cards also apply to certain accessories, such as the Apple Pencil (6,000 yen) and the Magic Keyboards (4,000 yen), as well as other products like the Apple TV 4K or the HomePod (8,000 yen).

Terms and Limitations

This promotion is only valid for purchases made on the official Apple Japan website, at physical Apple Stores, or via their telephone customer service. Orders placed through the Apple Store app are oddly not eligible. Certain products, such as the iPhone 16 or iPad mini 7, are excluded from the offer.

As for the limited edition AirTag, only buyers of an iPhone 14, 15, or SE during the promotional period can benefit. Once the 50,000 units are allocated, this offer will end. This product will not be sold separately, making it a relatively collectible item (consider saving one for friend Pierre Dandumont from our dear friends at MacG!).

A Typical Marketing Campaign

This promotion is not new; in Japan, it’s even a tradition, with New Year campaigns being particularly popular, allowing brands to kickstart their sales at the beginning of the year. In any case, this year’s AirTag is especially attractive!
