With the release of Wolfs just a month away, Brad Pitt has opened up about his future in the film industry and the possibility of his career winding down.
Reflecting on an Iconic Journey
Brad Pitt, a name synonymous with Hollywood, began his acting journey in 1987 at the age of 24 and has since become a staple in the cinematic world. As he continues to take on diverse roles, including his upcoming appearance in F1, a film likened to a new Top Gun: Maverick, and the action-packed Wolfs alongside George Clooney, questions about his future inevitably arise.
Nearing the End?
In a recent interview with GQ, conducted alongside Clooney, Pitt addressed his repeated mention of feeling “at the end of his rope.” He spoke candidly about the joys and struggles of his profession, reminiscing about his early days: “I was talking about different periods. You know, there was leaving the safety of the Ozarks [a mountain range in Missouri where he grew up]. You embark on this adventure [of acting] and it’s all about discovery—it’s really exciting, interesting, painful, and horrible, and all that. And then, when you’re let into the big leagues, it becomes another game of responsibilities and duties. But also opportunities, fun, and working with people you really respect.”
Pitt acknowledged that it’s natural to ponder one’s future at a certain point in a career, yet he ended on a hopeful note by mentioning architect Frank Gehry, who, at 95, remains active and creative: “Then that time comes: what will these last years be like? At 80, the body becomes more fragile. And yet, I look at Frank Gehry. He is simply the most adorable man I know. And he is 95 years old and continues to make art and has a beautiful family. I think that’s kind of the formula for staying creative and continuing to love life.”
What’s Next for Brad Pitt?
It seems that Brad Pitt plans to continue his acting career for a while longer. However, as he approaches 61, it’s uncertain if the Oscar-winning actor will be able to maintain the same level of physicality in his roles. Aging may eventually limit his ability to perform certain physically demanding roles—unless he takes a page from Tom Cruise’s book and keeps pushing those boundaries.
Regardless, Pitt is set to star in Wolfs, where he and George Clooney play professionals who must join forces to tackle a dire situation, showcasing that he’s still got it.
