AirPods Pro 2 USB-C at $199
While the latest Apple earbuds look identical to the previous generation, this iteration introduces a USB-C port, enhanced output with a unique H2 chip coupled with new algorithms, and new speakers.
Adaptive Transparency (which reduces annoying sound when Transparency mode is activated) is included, active noise cancellation (ANC) has also been improved, and it is possible to create a personalized listening profile (for these AirPods Pro 2 as well as Gen1, AirPods Gen3, Beats Fit Pro, and AirPods Max, with an iPhone equipped with Face ID and iOS 16) by analyzing the user’s ear shape using an iPhone’s camera.
More effective ANC, Adaptive Transparency, and improved sound output
The AirPods Pro Gen2 come with XS-sized tips to fit a wider range of users and offer a battery life of 6 hours with ANC (a 33% increase from the previous generation), extended to 30 hours through the charging case. Conveniently, users can slide their finger along the stem to adjust the earbuds’ volume, a feature many have requested.
The UWB U1 chip is also included for easier location tracking of the earbuds (which each emit a different sound) through the Find My app. The case features a side attachment for hooking a strap, MagSafe, and wireless charging (including via the Apple Watch’s magnetic puck). Lastly, the AirPods Pro 2 USB-C are the only AirPods in the lineup compatible with the key new features of iOS 18 and also offer reduced latency and lossless audio when connected to Vision Pro.
