Boost Your Mac’s Productivity with ChatGPT: Essential Tool for Professionals!

OpenAI has enhanced ChatGPT’s functionality as a productivity tool for businesses by adding several new features tailored for teams, universities, and professionals. Starting today, users of the paid plans (Team, Enterprise, and Edu) can access smart audio recording capabilities and native integration with popular cloud services.

A Note-Taking Assistant at Your Service

In the macOS app (and in professional plans), ChatGPT introduces a new Record button. This button activates an audio recording widget that captures conversations in real-time. The audio is automatically transcribed into structured notes including summaries, key points, action items, and pending questions.

Unlike other bots commonly used in meetings, this feature does not require a special connection to video conferencing tools (such as those from Zoom or Notion). It simply uses the device’s microphone. This is a significant advantage for both discretion and ease of use.

ChatGPT Now Reads Your Cloud Files

Additionally, the app offers direct integration with major cloud services, including: Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Box. With this capability, ChatGPT can analyze your personal or team documents to answer contextual questions while providing precise quotations from the analyzed files.

OpenAI also notes that these data are not used to train its models. Access rights and sharing permissions are fully respected.

More Connections to Other Platforms

This update enables connections to platforms such as GitHub, Gmail/Outlook, Google Calendar, HubSpot, Linear, Teams, and many others via SharePoint or Box.

Users can generate reports, prepare projects, or merge internal and external data directly through the ChatGPT interface, especially via OpenAI’s Canvas tool, which centralizes research and collaborative documentation.

Finally, OpenAI announces that its professional clients will soon be able to use the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard developed by Anthropic, to connect even more tools to ChatGPT. Companies like Cloudflare, Atlassian, Replit, and Zapier have already joined the MCP ecosystem.

ChatGPT: A New Central Hub for Online Work

With these updates, OpenAI continues to position ChatGPT not just as a conversational chatbot, but as a central hub for work, capable of centralizing information flows, taking notes, generating documents, and interfacing with everyday tools. Additionally, the company is also focusing on security and privacy, two crucial criteria in the context of increasing professional adoption.
