Color-Changing Glasses Revolutionize Tech for Chamelo – See How!

At CES 2025, French startup Chamelo makes a splash with an upgraded version of their glasses. Already known from the 2024 CES for their color-changing sunglasses, the company has now stepped up their game by incorporating prescription options, thereby broadening their target audience.

Color-Shifting Glasses at the Click of a Button

Building on the success of their Aura model, Chamelo introduces the Aura Rx, the first smart electronic glasses capable of changing lens tint with just a click. This feature goes beyond lenses that darken in response to light. While the options aren’t limitless, users can still toggle among four colors or four tint levels with a simple click.

The main selling point of Chamelo’s glasses is their ability to change the color of the lenses in real-time. The company promotes this technology as a feature that’s both useless and indispensable, perfect for standing out while enjoying optimal visual comfort.

To achieve this, the company builds on the success of the Aura, incorporating a discreet button located on the right side of the frame. This button allows the wearer to instantly switch from one shade to another, enabling them to match their glasses with their style or mood.

Last year, only non-prescription lenses boasted this quirky feature. But this year’s big news is that Chamelo now supports medical prescriptions through its exclusive Prismatic and Eclips lenses. In other words, these customizable glasses can now include vision correction, turning this stylish gadget into a genuine visual health tool.

What makes the Aura Rx truly revolutionary is its patented lens architecture. Our flexible liquid crystal film is protected on both sides by precisely manufactured lenses, creating a durable prescription solution that maintains nearly perfect optical clarity. (Chase Larson, COO at Chamelo)
