A Fresh Batch of Betas
These test versions are rolling out gradually and are aimed at developers, including those with free accounts. As always, caution is advised: betas can often be unstable, drain your battery quickly, and be buggy. Adventurous users are recommended to perform a thorough backup before installing.
Despite the excitement, some features announced at WWDC 2024 are still not available, and we’ll have to wait a bit longer. Due to non-compliance with the European Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple has postponed the rollout of Artificial Intelligence features in Europe, including iPhone screen mirroring and screen sharing via SharePlay, as well as some capabilities related to Apple Intelligence.
Apple is expected to resume a steady pace of weekly updates. According to Mark Gurman, this iteration might not bring many new features but is intended to fix bugs and improve stability. However, new features are expected to return with the betas of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, watchOS 11.4, tvOS 18.4, and visionOS 2.4.
