The Final Stretch Before Official Releases!
Every registered developer—including those with just a free account—can now take the plunge and install the beta versions of the systems showcased at WWDC 2024 at their own risk.
These Release Candidates are expected to be the final versions unless a significant bug is found before their expected publication next week, ideally by Monday evening. The countdown has begun!
Upcoming AI Features?
The first batch is expected to include some AI features in Messages (like Genmojis), Image Playground, writing enhancement tools, and Math Notes. Subsequently, enhancements in Mail, Home, or visionOS are anticipated.
For the second batch, we might have to wait until spring 2025 (nearly a year from presentation to launch, barring any unexpected delays from Apple) to experience the new intelligent Siri, with or without ChatGPT integration. The complete version is set to release with iOS 18.4 after a beta testing period starting in January 2025.
To remind, this significantly improved version will enable the voice assistant to control various actions within apps, better understand what’s currently on the screen, and determine what to do based on the context.
