Exclusive First Look: The Last of Us Season 2 Images Unveiled!

As expected, the first glimpses of the upcoming season of The Last of Us were released yesterday. Indeed, fans are well aware that September 26th marks the Last of Us Day. In the video game, this is the date when the virus began to spiral out of control. HBO certainly didn’t miss the chance to celebrate this outbreak day!

Seasons 2 (and 3) of the Apocalypse

Scheduled for 2025, the second season will continue to feature Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Judging from the first trailer, the upcoming episodes appear to be quite faithful to the original video game, especially in capturing the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of a world devastated by an uncontrollable pandemic.

In December 2023, according to Torrent Freak (which analyzed downloads via BitTorrent), the series – streamed on Prime Video – was a massive hit of the year. It was, therefore, no surprise to learn that it was also the most pirated series of 2023.

The show revived interest in the themes of apocalypse and human survival. Following the Covid pandemic, this formula was so successful that other services quickly followed suit.

Apple Intelligence and the iPhone 16

Apple also understood this well, as they enlisted Bella Ramsey to star in commercials for their latest iPhone 16. Recently, she has been featured in diverse roles: she was Lyanna Mormont in HBO’s Game of Thrones and Ellie in the apocalyptic The Last of Us (also HBO). Younger audiences may also recognize her as Amandine (Amandine Malabul, the clumsy witch).

The first video Custom memory movies focuses on customizing videos from memories one can create in the Photo app, enhanced by Apple Intelligence to craft a storyline with its own narrative arc (hence the actress’s involvement?).

The second video highlights the Mail Summary feature. As a reminder, with Mail and Messages, iOS 18.1 will introduce a button to summarize incoming messages (the summary appears in the reception list). Mail first displays the important messages at the top of your inbox and a quick summary will appear from the list view. One can access a more detailed summary, which will still be more concise than reading the entire email.

Finally, Siri (though not quite yet) is expected to become smarter and answer more questions.
