With the iPhone 16 set to be unveiled in just a few weeks, anticipation is building for Appleās latest release. While many had speculated that Apple Intelligence, the companyās upcoming AI feature, would be the highlight of this launch, new data suggests something else is driving interest.

Price Takes Priority Over AI Features

Contrary to expectations, Apple Intelligence may not be the key selling point for the iPhone 16. According to a recent study by SellCell, which surveyed 2,000 iOS users, the majority of people are more concerned about one crucial factor: the price. A significant 61.9% of respondents expressed interest in upgrading to the iPhone 16, but when asked what would influence their decision most, 30.9% said the price would be the determining factor. This shows that while Appleās innovations are always exciting, budget-conscious buyers are keeping a close eye on how much the new device will cost.
New Design and Heat Management Outrank AI
The study also revealed that Apple Intelligence, which promises to introduce advanced AI capabilities across all models of the iPhone 16, ranks as the third most important feature for those considering an upgrade. Only 21.9% of respondents mentioned it as a primary reason for their interest in the iPhone 16. Instead, the second most cited factor (26.8%) was the prospect of a new design aimed at better managing overheating issuesāan aspect many users are eager to see improved.
Patience for Apple Intelligence Rollout
Interestingly, the potential delay in rolling out Apple Intelligence doesnāt seem to bother most iOS users. In fact, 82.1% of those surveyed stated they have no issue waiting for the AI features to arrive, even though these are expected to debut no earlier than 2025. Apple is reportedly taking its time to ensure compliance with European regulations, which may slow the introduction of these capabilities.
For now, it seems users are content with the basicsāaffordability and practical upgradesāwhile the more futuristic promises of Apple Intelligence can wait. With the official unveiling expected on September 10th, weāll soon know exactly what the iPhone 16 has to offer, but one thing is clear: the price tag will play a pivotal role in its success.
