Following the success of the first season on Netflix, creator Charlie Covell is already hinting at the potential return of the mythological series KAOS.
The relationship between Charlie Covell and Netflix has been going strong for years. Back in 2017, Covell brought the platform a hit with her first series, The End of the F**ing World*, which was met with critical acclaim and helped launch the careers of Naomi Ackie and Alex Lawther. Now, Covell is back with a fresh project that blends sharp humor with ancient mythology. KAOS, which landed on Netflix on August 29, has quickly found its audience.
In KAOS, Jeff Goldblum plays a modernized version of Zeus, who begins to unravel after discovering a wrinkle on his forehead—a sign that the end of the world might be near. The show’s quirky and irreverent take on Greek mythology has already garnered attention, climbing to the fourth spot on Netflix’s top ten list in France, despite stiff competition from popular titles like In Place season 2 and Emily in Paris season 4.
But fans of the show have even more to look forward to, as Covell is already discussing the possibility of a second season. And beware, spoilers ahead!
KAOS Season 2: Could Zeus’ Wrath Return?
In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Covell shared her thoughts on the future of KAOS and teased a potential second season. When asked about continuing the story, she revealed, “I think anything is possible. My dream was to do three seasons. I have a lot of ideas, and I know exactly what I want to do with them.”
Covell made it clear that while the first season was designed to stand on its own, she hopes there’s room for more. “I didn’t want to end on a total cliffhanger,” she explained. “I hope that season 1 feels complete, but that it leaves room for more. Because I would absolutely love to continue this journey with the cast and crew. It’s been something of a dream come true.”
As for whether Netflix has officially greenlit a second season, Covell admitted that nothing is set in stone yet, but hinted that the streaming giant is enthusiastic about the possibility. “They’re definitely keen,” she said, leaving fans hopeful for an official announcement soon.
The end of season 1 hinted at even greater challenges for the gods, suggesting that they may face increasingly dire threats in the future. With the potential for more mythological chaos on the horizon, viewers will no doubt be eager to see how the story unfolds. In the meantime, KAOS is available to stream on Netflix now.
