Unveiled at CES 2025 and now available for pre-order, the LG UltraFine evo 32U990A-S is set to become the new standard monitor for professional creators. With a 6K resolution, Nano IPS Black technology, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, and an ergonomic design, it aims to attract both Mac and PC users. In France, it’s already listed at several retailers, including LDLC, priced at €1,799, with availability expected in November.

A 6K Display Calibrated for Professional Creation
The LG UltraFine evo 32U990A-S is primarily targeted at creative professionals such as video editors, photographers, 3D designers, and AI engineers. Its 31.5-inch Nano IPS Black panel offers a 6K resolution (6144 × 3456) at 224 ppi, packing 2.5 times more pixels than a 4K monitor. This sharpness allows for the display of native 4K content while still providing space for tools or timelines, a rare benefit for multitasking work.
The Nano IPS Black technology significantly enhances contrast (2000:1), delivering deeper blacks and more accurate colors. Covering 99.5% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3, the monitor meets the demands of professional photo and video workflows. With HDR 600 compatibility, it reaches 450 nits in standard use and up to 600 nits in HDR, for bright and detailed images.
Thunderbolt 5: A Next-Generation Productivity Hub
The Thunderbolt 5 makes its debut in a consumer monitor here. It supports up to 80 Gb/s transfer speeds, 96 W Power Delivery charging, and daisy-chaining multiple 6K displays over a single cable. Additionally, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and several USB-C ports transform the 32U990A-S into a true office hub.
Designed for both macOS and Windows environments, it centralizes everything: display, data transfer, and power. Practically, a single cable can connect a MacBook Pro, a laptop, or a full workstation while maintaining a clutter-free desk space.
Gradual Launch Across Europe
In the United States, the first shipments are expected by October 20, 2025. In France, LDLC has already listed the model at €1,799.95, but with availability expected after November 11, noted as provisional. Other retailers like LDLC and TopAchat also indicate a delay of more than fifteen days, without official confirmation from LG France.

In Germany, Heise.de mentions a price of around €2,000, confirming an imminent European launch. LG has also spoken about a global rollout starting in October, without specifying a schedule by country.
What’s the Verdict?
The LG UltraFine evo 6K is already positioning itself as a viable alternative to Apple’s Pro Display XDR: a monitor with flawless performance, half the price, and ready for the next generation of Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. Its European release, expected by late fall, should be a significant moment for professional creators seeking a benchmark monitor.
