PlayStation 5 for $399!
Although Sony has introduced a more compact model that is over 30% smaller (358 × 96 × 216 mm for the base version and 358 × 80 × 216 mm for the Digital Edition) and weighs 18 to 24% less depending on the version (3.2 or 2.6 kg), the company has chosen not to label these new PlayStation 5 models as “Slim”. Aesthetic changes include a slanted stripe dividing the side shells into four parts. The upper parts are made of glossy plastic, while the lower parts are matte.
This redesign allows for changing just one part, for instance, to switch colors once official modules are available, and also to add an optional HD Blu-Ray player to the Digital Edition model (a connection is required the first time to activate it).

Optional Blu-Ray Player and 1 TB of Storage
The stand for positioning the console vertically has been redesigned to now feature a more stylish chromed circle, but it will cost an additional $29.99 to enjoy this feature (the horizontal stand is included in the box). Both models now offer 2 USB-C ports on the front (previously 1 USB-C and 1 USB-A) and come with 1 TB of internal storage (up from 825 GB), which is a welcome upgrade considering the size of some games. At $399, the PlayStation 5 is priced well to enjoy its extensive game library in optimal conditions.
