Netatmo has announced the launch of the Indoor Camera Advance, a new surveillance camera model designed for indoor use. This device emphasizes privacy protection with an automatic mechanical privacy shutter, while incorporating advanced surveillance features. It will be on sale starting February 19, 2025, at a price of 249.99 euros, with no subscription fees required.

A Scalable Connected Surveillance System
The Indoor Camera Advance is a part of Netatmo’s home security ecosystem. It works seamlessly with other products from the company, including the smart siren and outdoor cameras. The Home + Security app allows users to manage all their devices centrally.
For installation, the camera can be placed on furniture or mounted on a wall or ceiling with a bracket. Its 130° field of view and swivel ball joint ensure wide coverage of the monitored area. Unlike some battery-operated competitor models, this device is wired—a deliberate choice by Netatmo to eliminate the need for recharging, though this may complicate installation in rooms without easily accessible outlets.
2K HDR Sensor and Enhanced Wi-Fi Connection
The camera features a 2K HDR video sensor, with a refresh rate of 30 frames per second. It supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks and uses MIMO technology to enhance connection stability and streaming fluidity.
Audio quality is also a focus, with dual integrated microphones utilizing beamforming technology to clearly capture voices while minimizing background noise and echo. An 80 dB speaker allows for the transmission of voice messages remotely via the mobile app.
Automated Privacy Shutter
Netatmo highlights privacy protection with a feature called Netatmo Smart Privacy
. The camera is equipped with a mechanical shutter that automatically closes when it detects occupants using facial recognition and geolocation. Conversely, the shutter opens when the user leaves their home, allowing the camera to resume surveillance. This is a thoughtful addition.
Pricing and Trade-In Offer
The Indoor Camera Advance will retail for 249.99 euros. Netatmo is providing a trade-in offer for owners of the earlier Indoor Intelligent Camera (Welcome): by trading in their old model, they can get a 50 euro discount on the purchase of the new version. The product will be available on Netatmo’s official website and through various specialized retailers and online platforms.
