No New iPad 11 Release Until 2025 – What You Need to Know!

Recent speculations hinted at a new iPad possibly being unveiled alongside the first M4 Macs, but it seems the launch may be delayed until next year!

No iPad 11 Release Next Week…

Just a few weeks ago, Mark Gurman reported that the initial M4 Macs would be released by the end of October (potentially on Tuesday, October 29, right before Apple’s financial results announcement on Thursday, October 31). The expected updates included the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini.

Alongside these updates, there was chatter about the iPad 11. However, it seems the journalist has revised his predictions following last week’s launch of the iPad mini 7! Indeed, he now believes that Cupertino will refresh the standard iPad next year.

Rumor Roundup:

• A base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip,
• Two MacBook Pros (14 and 16 inches) equipped with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips (no OLED screens until 2026),
• An iMac M4 (it’s possible that the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad might switch from Lightning to USB-C),
• A completely redesigned Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro,
• An iPad mini (no design changes, a new LCD panel to fix jelly scroll issues, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and likely a better camera),
• An iPad 11 postponed to 2025 (the latest in the rumor mill, expected to not include significant improvements)

What Features to Expect?

For this upcoming model, Apple is likely to stick with a 10.9-inch screen, similar to the iPad Air design, and include Wi-Fi 6E (like the iPad mini 7). They might also introduce some trendy new colors. Remember, the iPad already includes a USB-C port but it might feature enhanced data transfer speeds.

Since Apple has just equipped the iPad mini 7 with the Apple Pencil Pro, there’s no reason to exclude the standard iPad from this update… However, this would mean that all iPads could potentially support the Apple Pencil Pro, making the ‘Pro’ designation less exclusive, unless some features remain limited.

The iPad 10 is powered by the A14 chip (from the iPhone 12), which is starting to show its age. If Apple plans to integrate AI capabilities into the iPad 11, it would require at least an A17 chip and 8GB of RAM (up from the current 4GB).

As for pricing, there have been no rumors yet about the iPad 11. Thus, Apple might very well maintain the same price range. For storage, let’s hope they move from 64GB (which would be quite outdated today) to at least 128GB.
