Spring 2026: Your Date with Arendelle
The announcement was one of the most eagerly awaited at the “Destination D23” conference. After years of development, the “World of Frozen” themed area finally has an opening window: spring 2026.
This new land, located at the back of the second park, will feature a towering 40-meter snowy mountain topped by Elsa’s Ice Palace. Guests will be able to stroll through the village of Arendelle and hop on the “Frozen Ever After” boat ride, which brings the movie’s story to life. A restaurant and a shop will also be part of the new area.
The End of Walt Disney Studios Park
This debut marks a significant phase in the complete overhaul of the second park. As previously announced, the introduction of the Frozen theme will be aligned with a name change for the park: Walt Disney Studios will be renamed “Disney Adventure World“.
This name change reflects a move away from the often criticized “behind-the-scenes of cinema” theme to a focus on immersive Disney story worlds. The new central lake, “Adventure Bay”, and its surrounding pathway, “Adventure Way”, will also open at the same time.
A Massive Investment to Revamp the Park’s Image
This project is part of a massive two-billion-euro investment plan announced in 2018. It aims to address the shortcomings of a second park that has often been viewed as disappointing and not very immersive by visitors.
After years of price hikes and few significant new features, this addition is crucial for enhancing the appeal of the Parisian destination.
What’s the Buzz?
This is a highly anticipated and absolutely critical moment for Disneyland Paris. Walt Disney Studios Park has always been the black sheep of the resort, a side attraction visited quickly for the Nemo and Ratatouille rides. This transformation into “Disney Adventure World”, with Frozen as a flagship attraction, represents a last-ditch effort to finally make it appealing.
The stakes are high. After years of criticism, Disney is under pressure to deliver. The introduction of one of the strongest franchises in its portfolio promises a significant draw for visitors. The hope is that the outcome will match the investment and meet the fans’ expectations. And you, does this transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park make you want to visit again?
