A Fast Charging Station in the Heart of the City
Located at Porte de Saint-Ouen in the 17th district, this all-electric station is a pioneering development in Paris. Covering an area of 200 m², it features eight ultra-fast charging points with a capacity of 300 kW each. These chargers can deliver 100 km of range in just six minutes or charge a vehicle up to 80% in about 20 minutes, depending on the model. Prices range from 0.49 €/kWh for standard chargers (up to 50 kW) to 0.59 €/kWh for the faster ones. Payment options include credit cards and various mobile apps.
Transforming Gas Stations for the Electric Era
This project is part of a broader initiative to transform traditional gas stations. TotalEnergies is committing to the electrification of its urban sites, a strategic move for a company preparing for the anticipated phase-out of internal combustion engines in the near future. This Parisian facility is the fifth of its kind in the Île-de-France region, and the company plans to expand its network to include 500 charging stations by 2027, many of which will be exclusively electric. In Paris, TotalEnergies focuses on strategically located sites that meet the needs of local users and professionals such as taxi drivers, ride-sharing services, and delivery personnel.
Addressing the Shortage of Charging Points
The establishment of these electric stations is intended to address the shortage of charging facilities in city centers. According to Geoffroy Boulard, the mayor of the 17th district, such infrastructure is essential in a capital city where many buildings lack residential charging options.
In addition to charging services, this station offers extra amenities such as Wi-Fi and a relaxation area, bringing it closer to the experience provided by highway service station chargers. This model could become more widespread as the adoption of electric vehicles increases.
