Five-Screen Docking Station: Plugable UD-7400PD
The UD-7400PD docking station is a groundbreaking product as it’s the first of its kind to support up to five external monitors simultaneously. Compatible with both Mac and Windows, it incorporates USB-C and DisplayLink technologies. Four of the screens can display 4K resolution at 120 Hz, while a fifth can go up to 8K. This station also boasts a 140W power output, ample to keep a laptop charged during heavy use.
In terms of connectivity, it features two HDMI ports, three USB-C DisplayLink ports, as well as front-facing USB-A and USB-C ports offering rapid charging at 30W. Additionally, it includes a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and an audio jack. This docking station is designed for professionals who use multiple applications at once, particularly financial analysts who thrive on multi-screen setups, and content creators. It’s priced at $265.
Ten-Port USB-C Charger: Plugable PS-10CC
The PS-10CC is touted as the first ten-port USB-C charger featuring intelligent power distribution. It offers a total power output of 100W and automatically prioritizes devices that need fast charging, such as laptops. This dynamic power management system is designed to maximize efficiency while preventing overcharging.
This charger is perfect for various settings, including shared offices, classrooms, or home setups. It uses a standard power adapter, which the company claims reduces electronic waste by minimizing the need for multiple chargers (and not just to save costs, of course…). Regardless, it provides a centralized solution for charging multiple devices simultaneously, which can be quite convenient. It’s priced at $100.
Quad HDMI USB-C Graphics Adapter: Plugable USBC-7400H4
With the USBC-7400H4, Plugable offers a portable solution for connecting up to four 4K displays at 60 Hz using a single USB-C port. The adapter, which also employs DisplayLink technology, is compatible with both Mac and Windows. Along with its four HDMI outputs, it features a 100W pass-through charging capability, allowing you to charge a laptop while using the adapter.
Its lightweight and compact design make it ideal for frequent travelers. Being TAA compliant, it is suitable for use in government or corporate settings. It’s priced at $125.
All these products, announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, will be available in the first quarter of 2025 in the American market, though there’s no word yet on availability in France.
