A Collection Previously Exclusive to Asia
This announcement marks the end of a long-standing frustration. For years, French gamers have seen images of this Razer and The Pokémon Company collaboration on social media, but until now, it was only available in the Asian market.
Razer has finally decided to officially launch its collection in Europe, including France. Now, these products can be purchased directly without the need for imports.
Featuring Pikachu and First-Generation Starters
Targeting the nostalgic heartstrings of early fans, the collection features Pikachu and the three first-generation starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. The lineup includes four products: the BlackWidow V4 X mechanical keyboard for €199.99, the Kraken V4 X wired headset for €109.99, the Cobra mouse for €69.99, and to round out the setup, the Gigantus V2 mouse pad for €39.99.

Warning: Keyboard Available in QWERTY Only!
This is a major letdown of the announcement. Though the collection has officially launched in France, the BlackWidow V4 X keyboard is only available in the American QWERTY layout.
There are no plans for an AZERTY version at this time. It’s a peculiar decision by Razer, which might deter many potential buyers in France, but well, it is what it is…
So, What Do We Think?
This collection is a true “fan service” product, and it’s very well-executed. The design is sleek, the use of first-generation Pokémon directly appeals to nostalgia, and the quality of Razer’s hardware is unquestionable. It’s the kind of collaboration that always works.
But then, the issue with the keyboard being only in QWERTY, isn’t that a major problem? Could this kind of collection tempt you to make a purchase?
