AirPods 4
The AirPods 4, while largely retaining the design of the AirPods 3, bring enhanced comfort according to Apple, making them more adaptable for most users. The AirPods 4 are equipped with the H2 chip, the most advanced from the manufacturer (found in the AirPods Pro 2), and feature a redesigned internal architecture and speakers to provide optimized output, with deeper and more controlled bass.
A Major Evolution?
In addition to the H2 chip and a pressure sensor on the stem, the AirPods 4 support active noise cancellation (ANC), presenting an interesting challenge for semi-intra earbuds, with a Transparency mode that allows you to stay aware of your surroundings, adaptive audio, and personalized spatial audio.
The case features a USB-C port, an integrated speaker (making it easier to find with the Find My app), and wireless charging, compatible with Qi standard (allowing use with most charging pads) as well as with MagSafe, Qi2 chargers (without the optimization of charging and placement of the case through magnets), and also with the Apple Watch charging puck. Apple also states a battery life of 30 hours with the charging case.
The AirPods 4 are available in a standard version launched at 149 euros, and an ANC version (with active noise cancellation) priced at 199 euros outside of promotions.
