MacBook Air M4
At the heart of this new MacBook Air, which you can read about in our full review, lies the brand-new M4 chip. Created by Apple, it promises ultra-fast performance: 4K video editing, app development, and of course, new features powered by Apple Intelligence with macOS Sequoia.
The MacBook Air features a Liquid Retina display available in 13.6 or 15.3 inches, with up to 500 nits of brightness, Touch ID, and Magic Keyboard. In terms of connectivity, it benefits from Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It also offers MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt 4 ports for connecting accessories like external storage drives and security keys, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Compared to the previous generation, the MacBook Air M4 features a 10-core CPU and a GPU with up to 10 cores and unified memory up to 32 GB, making the new MacBook Air up to twice as fast as the model with the M1 chip
. All machines come standard with a 256 GB SSD and 16 GB of unified memory (up from 8 GB previously), allowing for smoother management of resource-intensive software. It will of course be possible, at an additional cost, to upgrade to a 2 TB SSD and 32 GB of RAM.

• Spreadsheet computations in Microsoft Excel are up to 4.7 times faster than the fastest Intel MacBook Air and up to 1.6 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Air with M1.
• Video editing in iMovie is up to 8 times faster than the fastest Intel MacBook Air and up to 2 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Air with M1.
• Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop is up to 3.6 times faster than the fastest Intel MacBook Air and up to 2 times faster than the 13-inch MacBook Air with M1.
• Web browsing is up to 60% faster compared to a laptop equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, and more demanding tasks are up to twice as fast.
Style-wise, Apple finally introduces some color with this beautiful sky blue (like the iPad mini 7?). The classics such as silver, starlight, and midnight are also available. The MacBook Air M4 maintains its ultra-thin and lightweight design while being more robust.
A major new feature for this generation, the MacBook Air M4 now supports up to two external 6K displays (in addition to its built-in display) — a first for an Air model! In terms of battery life, Apple announces up to 18 hours of use.
The webcam also takes a step forward: the MacBook Air M4 adopts a 12 MP camera with Center Stage. This technology keeps you in the center of the frame during video calls, automatically adjusting as you move. A perfect feature for video conferences and professional presentations.
With macOS Sequoia, the MacBook Air M4 is obviously compatible with Apple Intelligence. This suite of AI tools allows you to automate your tasks, write intelligent texts, and get instant responses thanks to artificial intelligence capabilities built directly into the system.
