Tado X: A New Range
In an era where energy savings are crucial, both for environmental consciousness and to reduce bills, investing in a high-performance connected thermostat is more relevant than ever. With its new tado° X range, the German company established in Munich in 2011 relies on Matter and Thread technologies and even more user-friendly products to enhance its offerings and attract more customers, including those not tech-savvy.
The complete lineup of the new tado° X products includes:
• The Intelligent X Thermostatic Head
• The X Wireless Temperature Sensor
• The X Bridge, a Thread edge router
• The X Heat Pump Optimizer
Matter and Thread Compatibility
The Tado X ecosystem is the first of its kind to be compatible with Matter and Thread. This allows the installation of the temperature sensor and thermostatic heads (which can operate independently and will be visible and configurable from the dedicated app and Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem) and their control via Thread and the X Bridge, as well as via an existing edge router in your home, like a HomePod/HomePod mini, or an Apple TV 4K.
The Thread mesh network then provides greater range and offline operation, which can prove invaluable for managing large areas. The compatibility with Matter allows the system to work with Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa. However, it is important to note that the manufacturer has started from scratch, meaning the new Tado X range is unfortunately not compatible with the previous V3+ devices.
