Echo Spot
Amazon officially introduces the latest Echo Spot as a smart alarm clock, which seems quite fitting. By adopting the Echo Pop’s form factor and adding a small screen, it indeed finds its place easily on a bedside table. Not only is it as easy to check the time as on a traditional alarm clock, but you also get access to Alexa, thus controlling home automation, including devices compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Matter, as well as a speaker equipped with a 44.5mm full-range driver.
A Connected Alarm Clock
The 2.83-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels is sufficient to display the time and any set alarms, timers, weather conditions, as well as song titles and artwork being played (you can link an Apple Music, Spotify, or Deezer account as the main service on the Echo), audiobooks, or controls for various compatible home automation devices, such as lighting.
This new version will also allow those who appreciated the previous generation to upgrade their equipment.
A physical button on the top allows you to completely turn off the microphone, providing peace of mind for those concerned. It’s worth noting that this new generation completely lacks a camera. The Echo Spot is currently available on promotion for 49.99 euros, a 47% discount from the official price of 94.99 euros.
