As we gear up for the fifth and final season of The Boys, one actress is eager to take down the character everyone loves to hate. With Amazon also teasing a new spin-off series, Vought Rising, featuring Soldier Boy and Stormfront, it’s the upcoming season of The Boys that has fans buzzing. After the cliffhanger ending of Season 4 (thanks to the ever-bloody Butcher), the anticipation for how the battle between the Seven and the Boys will conclude is at an all-time high.

The Stakes Are Higher Than Ever

Showrunner Eric Kripke has hinted that no one is safe in Season 5, with the potential for some—or all—characters to meet their end. This has led to endless speculation about who might bite the dust, whether it’s a beloved character or one of the villains we’ve grown to loathe. And it turns out, one of the show’s stars has her own ideas about who should meet a grisly fate.
Starlight’s Grudge

In a recent interview with ComicBook while promoting her latest film, Catching Dust, Erin Moriarty, who plays Annie January/Starlight in The Boys, didn’t hold back when asked which character she’d like to see taken out. Her answer? The Deep.
“Personally, I think all bets are off after last season,” Moriarty said. “I think [Starlight] should kill Homelander, but I don’t believe that desire will—or even can—be fulfilled. Who knows? But she should at least get The Deep—just let me kill this guy, for God’s sake…”
The Deep, played by Chace Crawford, has become one of the most despised characters on the show. His evolution from a secondary character to a fully-fledged villain has sparked a range of reactions, mostly scornful, from the show’s fans. Given his history with Starlight, it would feel like poetic justice for her to be the one to take him down. Moriarty elaborated on this, saying:
“But it has to be in a scenario where she’s provoked because Starlight isn’t the type to just go around killing people. They’d have to attack her, and it would have to be in self-defense for her to kill someone. And I feel like the audience wasn’t really on board with that until last season. But it’s sort of a concept of cathartic karma. I think we really need that. So, above all, it has to be him.”

A Showdown to Remember

With any luck, the tension between Starlight and The Deep will continue to build in Season 5, culminating in a violent showdown that gives fans the closure they crave. The final season of The Boys is set to premiere in the second half of 2026 on Prime Video, and it’s safe to say that we’re all eagerly awaiting what promises to be a brutal and bloody finale.
