Tim Cook Turns Salesman at Apple Store Ginza – See the Photos!

On Friday, September 26, Apple celebrated the grand reopening of Apple Ginza, its iconic store in Tokyo, initially launched in 2003 as the first Apple Store outside the United States. The store now features a full page dedicated to its redesign, which spans four stories and blends a nod to its heritage with a showcase of the latest innovations.

A Nod to Its Origins

Located in the bustling Ginza district, a hub for luxury and innovation, this store holds a special place in Apple’s history. Indeed, Tokyo was where Apple embarked on its international retail adventure. Two decades later, the venue has been completely redesigned to mirror the evolution of the Apple ecosystem: products, services, and creative experiences offered through Today at Apple sessions.

Visitors can explore the entire current range: starting with the iPhone 17 series, the Apple Watch Series 11, and the AirPods Pro 3. To mark the occasion, a special edition Apple Gift Card is available exclusively at this store for a limited time.

An Exclusive Experience with Number_i

For this reopening, Apple is offering a unique Today at Apple Spotlight session in collaboration with Japanese band Number_i. Centered around their single U.M.A., the session allows the audience to explore Spatial Audio and spatial video, flagship technologies of the latest Apple products.

This exclusive experience is offered at Apple Ginza, before being rolled out to all Apple Stores in Japan starting October 11. Reservations can be made on Apple’s website.

A Flagship Store for Apple in Japan

With this new space, Apple Ginza continues to serve as a meeting point between technology and culture, where purchasing products is intertwined with immersive experiences. The reopening also underscores the strategic importance of the Japanese market to the company, which now boasts about ten Apple Stores across the country.

By revamping its very first international store, Apple does more than just reopen a shop: it marks a symbolic return to the roots of its global expansion while asserting its vision for the future of retail.
