Top Apple Gifts This Christmas: No Macs or iPhones on the List!

With a rather attractive Mac mini and fairly advanced iPhones, one might expect these products to be popular Christmas gifts. Yet, they’re no longer the go-to presents for the holiday season!

Indeed, according to a study by Piper Jaffray, the most popular Apple products during Christmas are not what you might think! So, what did you find under your Christmas tree?

A Whole Lot of AirPods!

First off, it’s important to note that Apple remains one of the top brands during the holiday season, surpassing others like Nike and even luxury brands like Louis Vuitton.

Starting at under $200, AirPods have become the holiday season’s star product! These earbuds are suitable for almost everyone in the family, whether they own an iPhone, a Mac, or even an Android device!

While exact numbers are unclear, these earbuds account for tens of millions of units sold during this time of year in the US alone. The AirPods 4, especially with their active noise cancellation, are particularly impressive this year, making them an ideal gift.

How About an Apple Watch?

Another nearly ‘affordable’ Apple product, the Apple Watch is also among the top three gifted items: about 10% of customers reportedly receive the watch for Christmas!

With its broad appeal, the watch caters to athletes, health-conscious individuals, and even the elderly—but that’s not all. Let’s not forget the connected features: for instance, you can control your Tesla with the watch or turn on the living room lights!

Finally, the Apple Watch SE is perfect for teenagers and children, with its affordable price, although the latest version may not be as compelling as in previous years.

Or Maybe an iPad?

With the iPad 10 starting at $339 on the Refurb, it’s definitely a hot deal at the end of 2024!

The tablet stands as the third most popular Apple product… featuring arguably the most affordable models, even though prices have risen over the years. Even an iPad mini starts at over $600, and let’s not even discuss the iPad Air and Pro, whose prices skyrocket too quickly.

No iPhone or Mac?

Contrary to what one might assume, Macs and iPhones account for only 1% of Apple products received as Christmas gifts.

Aside from their excessively high prices, it is also presumed that people prefer to purchase models and configurations that meet their specific needs, largely for professional use.

And you, what did you receive this Christmas? Does this study ring true in your experience?
