After this date, it will be impossible to receive new Android updates or security patches. Even LG Bridge, the software used for backups and updates via a PC, will cease to function. This shutdown will affect all LG models still in use, without exception.
Extended Support Comes to an End
When LG left the smartphone sector in April 2021, it committed to providing three years of updates for its active devices. The company has kept its promise and even extended support beyond the initial deadline. The last models eligible received Android 12 or 13, depending on the device. Since then, a few security patches have continued to be released. However, even this minimal maintenance is now drawing to a close. LG quietly made the announcement on its Korean website, without much fanfare, but definitively.
