What’s the Hottest Movie on Apple TV+ Right Now?

For those who don’t have Apple Vision to dive into the depths of Submerged, the stunning thriller by Alfonso Cuarón starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline is now available on Apple TV+! Yet, it seems there’s another hit making waves on the platform…

A Warning That Chills…

Indeed, led by Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, and directed by Alfonso Cuarón, the new must-watch series of the season, Disclaimer, arrives on Apple TV+ today. It stands out as one of the platform’s most ambitious series, delivered in seven parts. Disclaimer was crafted by the multi-Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón. To bring the characters of this psychological thriller to life, two other Oscar-winning actors, Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, were enlisted.

This is one of the few series that was shown to critics well before its public release, who emphasized the importance of avoiding any spoilers to fully enjoy it. To tease the audience, Apple even released a trailer that can still be viewed without revealing the plot and, of course, the climax, with a forewarning: any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is not coincidental!

Don’t Read If You Want No Spoilers

Famed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett) has built her career on exposing the wrongdoings and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an anonymous author, she is horrified to discover she is the protagonist in a story that unveils her darkest secrets and threatens to dismantle her family.

As Catherine races to uncover the true identity of the author, she must confront her past before it ruins her life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Baron Cohen) and her son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

Shrinking Season 2

Meanwhile, Apple has just kicked off Season 2 of Shrinking, continuing the journey of Jason Segel and Harrison Ford. The global premiere is set for October 16 (featuring the first two episodes, followed by a new episode every Wednesday until December 25, 2024). Cupertino didn’t miss the chance to roll out the red carpet at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.

Alongside Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, Ted McGinley, and co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence were also present.

The series continues to follow a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts breaking the rules and telling his clients exactly what he thinks. Disregarding his training and ethics, he brings tumultuous changes to people’s lives… including his own.

Wolfs is a Smash Hit!

Released on September 27, Wolfs, the film by Jon Watts starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, had the best opening weekend ever for a film on Apple TV+. Despite some setbacks, particularly regarding its absence from theaters, it’s a true blockbuster.

Apple does not publish viewership numbers for Apple TV+. However, according to Deadline, the overall audience for the service reportedly surged by nearly 30% compared to the week before the film’s release. The film apparently enjoyed huge success in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the USA. It’s whispered that it outperformed “The Instigators,” featuring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.

Wolfs is an action comedy where two professional cleaners are assigned to the same case. The solitary wolves are forced to collaborate in an uncontrollably spiraling situation, unfolding in ways neither of them expected. Every moment is an adventure: will the two men get along in the end?
