WhatsApp Soon to Launch Its Own ChatGPT! What Are Your Thoughts?

Following in the footsteps of OpenAI, Google, and others, WhatsApp is now entering the fray with its own take on personalized AI assistants. The messaging app from Meta is currently developing a new feature called AI Studio, which will allow users to easily create their own chatbot without needing any coding knowledge.

A New Interface for Crafting Custom Assistants

According to information from WABetaInfo, this new feature is currently being rolled out to select beta testers on iOS and Android. The integrated AI Studio will guide users through the process of designing their personalized assistant directly within the app.

The creation process begins with the selection of a role for the chatbot: academic coach, travel assistant, motivational companion, or even a fictional character. Next, users can choose a personality style: calm, funny, professional, energetic, etc. Based on these selections, WhatsApp generates language and behavior suggestions, making the creation process intuitive even for beginners. Aren’t these all features we’d love to see in Siri?

Private Assistants… But Shareable

By default, these chatbots will be private, intended for personal use. However, a unique link can be generated to share them with other users, similar to OpenAI’s custom GPTs or Google Gemini’s Gems. This sharing capability could lead to a whole ecosystem of AI assistants on WhatsApp – for studying, motivating, entertaining, or even collaborating.

Until now, creating these assistants was only possible through the Meta AI Studio online, Messenger, or Instagram. The direct integration into WhatsApp marks a new phase for Meta, aiming to turn its applications into platforms where anyone can create AI experiences – not just developers.

The feature is still under development and has not yet been officially launched, but its inclusion in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp indicates that its rollout is imminent. It comes at an exciting time for the app, which recently launched its official iPad app and began testing username features similar to those on Telegram.
