When Will the iPhone 17 Keynote Happen? Mark Your Calendars!

With about a month to go until the unveiling of the iPhone 17 lineup, speculation is rampant, and everyone is trying to pin down the exact date for Apple’s September keynote amidst swirling rumors (yikes, the iPhone 17 Air will cost an arm and a leg and won’t last a day on a charge).

A Schedule in Line with Bloomberg’s Forecasts

According to the German site iphone-ticker.de (which bases its report on information from mobile phone carriers), the next Apple event focusing on the iPhone 17 is slated for Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

This date fits well with the schedules of the past decade and aligns with the predictions made by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Gurman had already highlighted the week of September 8 as a likely window, with the 9th or 10th being the most probable dates. Thus, the information from European carriers lends further credibility to this date.

If this date is confirmed, Apple would stick to its usual routine and start accepting pre-orders from Friday, September 12 (2 PM for the early birds), with the products becoming available a week later, on Friday, September 19, in its key markets: the United States, Europe, China, and Japan.

The Full iPhone 17 Lineup

The event is expected to feature the debut of the standard iPhone 17, the new iPhone 17 Air (which will replace the Plus model that itself replaced the mini), the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This keynote might also unveil several other anticipated products: the Apple Watch Series 11, a new Apple Watch Ultra 3 (coming after a two-year hiatus), the latest Apple Watch SE 3, and possibly even the AirPods 3.

To get the official word, we’ll need to wait until the end of August or the beginning of September. Indeed, Cupertino is expected to send out the official invitations about a week before the keynote, which would mean the announcement could come around Tuesday, September 2.

An Amazing Keynote?

This fall is shaping up to be especially busy for Cupertino, with a lineup that could represent a significant turning point, particularly with the launch of the iPhone 17 Air, the thinnest iPhone ever designed.

Meanwhile, Tim Cook couldn’t resist the urge to tease about Apple’s future. During an internal meeting last week, he reportedly shared that he has never felt more excited and energized about upcoming products, hinting at a promising roadmap, though without revealing any specifics.

Anything is possible: the release of new products might lean towards smart home devices, or perhaps a new Apple TV or AirTags 2. However, hopes for Apple Glasses in 2025 are slim.

Yet, Tim Cook might just be ramping up his enthusiasm to reassure investors during a period marked by Donald Trump’s challenging economic policies. Or maybe, as he grows older and surpasses Steve Jobs’ tenure as head of Apple, he’s simply overdoing it a bit?
