During the official announcement of the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi also introduced its latest smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch S4. This new model comes equipped with HyperOS 2.0 and features a high-brightness 1500 nit AMOLED display. It includes advanced features such as gesture control and eSIM connectivity.
AMOLED Display and Customizable Design
The Xiaomi Watch S4 sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that boasts a brightness level of 1500 nits, which should ensure good visibility outdoors. The watch distinguishes itself with a rotating crown and a swappable bezel that allows users to easily change its appearance. Xiaomi also offers a variety of bands, including leather and synthetic options, to suit different tastes. The watch is constructed from an aluminum alloy, measures 47.3 x 47.3 x 12 mm, weighs 44.5 grams, and is powered by a 486 mAh battery. This battery can last approximately two weeks on a single charge without the always-on display feature enabled; with it, battery life is around five days.
HyperOS 2.0 Operating System
The Xiaomi Watch S4 runs on HyperOS 2.0, an operating system designed for enhanced efficiency, improving the watch’s smoothness and responsiveness. It supports over 150 sports modes and a variety of health tracking features, including a heart rate sensor, an oximeter for oxygen saturation monitoring, and various activity sensors. Gesture controls have also been integrated for ease of use, such as finger snapping to perform certain functions.
Extended Connectivity and Improved Battery Life
Available in both Bluetooth and eSIM versions, the watch also includes NFC for contactless payments, along with dual-frequency GPS for accurate location tracking. Additional connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and support for satellite navigation systems like Galileo, Glonass, Beidou, and QZSS.
Pricing and Availability
Currently, the Xiaomi Watch S4 is only available in China, where it is priced at 999 CNY (approximately 100 euros) for the Bluetooth model and 1,199 CNY (about 125 euros) for the eSIM version. An international release is anticipated over the coming months, following Xiaomi’s typical rollout strategy.
