The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra reveals its primary camera ahead of schedule

Leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra continue to flood in, and this time, it’s the primary camera that’s getting the spotlight. As the phone’s official launch draws closer, new details about its camera setup have emerged, providing a glimpse into the next generation of mobile photography.

The Leaked Primary Camera Details

The Galaxy S25 Ultra has recently been spotted in the Camera FV-5 app, a tool known for offering advanced camera features. This discovery revealed key technical details about the smartphone’s primary camera, which is identified by the model number SM-S938U.

According to the leak, the camera will feature a 12.5 MP sensor, utilizing pixel binning technology. This process combines multiple pixels into one larger pixel to enhance image quality, especially in low-light conditions. The camera could potentially deliver images at either 50 MP (4-in-1 pixel binning) or 200 MP (16-in-1 pixel binning), offering users impressive flexibility for various shooting scenarios.

The camera’s f/1.7 aperture and 23.2 mm focal length are expected to ensure sharp, high-quality shots, while a wide ISO range from 12 to 3200 provides adaptability to different lighting environments. For photography enthusiasts, there will also be a manual mode, allowing for exposure adjustments from 1/11,977 to 1/6 seconds, with the option of either autofocus or manual focus.

Other Camera Specifications

Though details about the secondary sensors haven’t been fully confirmed via Camera FV-5, earlier reports suggest the Galaxy S25 Ultra will sport a quad-camera setup. This would include the primary 200 MP camera (likely the Samsung HP2 sensor), a 50 MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 50 MP 5x telephoto lens, and a 10 MP 3x telephoto lens.

Samsung’s S24 Ultra has already set a high bar as one of the best smartphones for photography on the market. As a result, the S25 Ultra is under heavy scrutiny from mobile photography enthusiasts. With its expected feature upgrades, including this powerful camera setup, Samsung is aiming to further solidify its dominance in the field.

With just a few weeks left before the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s official unveiling, expected in January 2025, all eyes are on Samsung to see if it can deliver the next big leap in mobile photography.
