Another exciting addition is the much-talked-about Photo button, known as Camera Control
, which is a touch-sensitive button covered with sapphire that allows you to snap a photo with just one click.
In terms of camera specs, we’re seeing a pill-shaped arrangement of the sensors. The main sensor remains at 48MP, f/1.6, with 2 microns per pixel. It retains the 2x zoom (built into the sensor), equivalent to a 52mm lens.
The central 48MP sensor can now offer a 2x telephoto option with full-resolution photos at 12MP. It has a faster aperture at f/1.6, capturing 1.6 times more light than before. The iPhone 16 is capable of merging a 48MP and a 12MP photo, balancing light quality and image details into a 24MP image.
Additionally, you can expect 4k60 video recordings with Dolby Vision HDR. The second sensor is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle at f/2.2, equivalent to a 13mm focal length. Apple announces 1.4 microns per pixel. The iPhone 16 introduces a new ultra-wide-angle sensor (12 MP), with autofocus. The video capabilities remain at 4K60 with Dolby Vision.
Apple Intelligence
The iPhone 16 will be compatible with all new Apple Intelligence features, set to be released next year. If you’re on a tighter budget, the iPhone 15 is currently available for $743.
