As we start 2025, anticipated releases include the iPad 11, a MacBook Air M4, an iPad Air (M4?), a new iPhone SE, and possibly some surprises. According to Mark Gurman, Apple Stores are indeed preparing for new products that could hit shelves as early as this week.
Apple’s New Releases This Week?
In reality, these might just be minor accessories, like the popular Black Unity bands for the Apple Watch, along with new wallpapers across various devices. Moreover, the tvOS 18.3 update includes a reference to UNITY25
in its latest beta.
Launch weeks are always hectic times for store teams (managing inventory, rearranging displays, reorganizing product layouts…), Apple often takes advantage of these periods to roll out multiple products.
The notion of a MacBook Air M4 launching soon isn’t far-fetched, even if the device might not feature any major updates other than a new chip (I would have liked WiFi 7, but it seems that won’t be the case).
Another hint, iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 are expected to be available next week, with the concurrent release of macOS updates and new devices also being fairly standard.
Mac4Ever’s Take
After a 2024 kick-started by the release of the Apple Vision Pro (regardless of opinions) and wrapped up with the impressive Mac mini M4, the upcoming launches seem to have a bit less excitement in these early months of the year.
No major new products are really expected in 2025, except maybe the much-talked-about HomePad, a remote display for the connected home designed to optimize HomeKit product management. However, its launch might not happen until the end of the year, much like the iPhone 17 Air, which has been buzzing in rumor mills for weeks.
