iMac M4 Overview
Equipped with the M4 processor, the iMac showcases doubled performance compared to the original M1 version. Fabricated with a 3 nm process, the M4 features enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities and superior graphics processing, benefits that are already utilized in the latest iPad Pro. Apple also highlights a reduction in energy consumption compared to the M2 processor. Priced starting at $1499, this model offers increased power with an 8-core CPU architecture and up to 10 GPU cores.
Increased RAM and USB-C Accessories
By increasing the base RAM to 16GB, Apple addresses a frequent issue of offering base models with insufficient memory. The iMac M4 retains a 24-inch display with a 4.5K resolution, enhanced by an optional nano-texture coating to reduce glare for an additional $240. Additionally, the accessories, including the keyboard and mouse, have transitioned to USB-C ports, replacing the Lightning connector. This shift to USB-C, already underway on other Apple products, simplifies the use of peripherals and standardizes connectivity.
The iMac M4 is available in seven colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. The design remains the same as the one introduced in 2021, but the device now includes Apple Intelligence, the artificial intelligence system launched with macOS Sequoia 15.2.
