The latest generation of the Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker is currently available at its lowest price since its launch.

Just to recap, the latest version of Beats’ Bluetooth speaker, the Pill+, was launched in 2015 and was discontinued in 2022, only to make intermittent returns through collaborations with brands like the clothing manufacturer Stüssy and Book Projects, the company founded by NBA star Devin Booker. Beats took its time before unveiling this thoroughly revamped 2024 version. For this launch, Beats even brought back a fictional character to promote the new speaker!
This new Pill 2024 model features a racetrack-shaped speaker (an oval shape reminiscent of American race tracks) with a reinforced diaphragm and a larger magnet that, according to Beats, provides significantly better sound quality and the ability to play at high volumes with reduced distortion (the woofer moves 90% more air than the previous generation, eliminating the need for a passive radiator), along with a new tweeter. This setup results in a monophonic output, but it’s possible to pair two Beats Pills for stereo sound (a double mono “Amplification” mode is also available once the two speakers are paired).
The speaker includes a USB-C port not only for charging but also to charge other devices and to enjoy lossless audio via a wired connection (wired stereo pairing is not available). The speakers are slightly angled to improve sound direction towards the listener, and the device is IP67 certified, making it safe to bring along to the beach or the pool.
The Beats Pill 2024, which we have reviewed, includes a microphone for calls and voice assistants, features Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC and AAC codecs, connects effortlessly with both Apple and Android devices, supports location services from both ecosystems, has buttons for various controls, includes a strap, and offers up to 24 hours of battery life.
