Dreame L50 Pro Ultra
After dominating the mid-range market with the L series, Dreame is now targeting the premium segment with the L50 Pro Ultra, launched on February 25, 2025. The goal? Offer performance that rivals ultra-high-end models like the X50 Ultra, at a more reasonable price point (around €1,299), while introducing key innovations: retractable LiDAR, multitasking PowerDock station, intelligent washing, and more.
Aesthetically similar to the X50 Ultra, the L50 Pro Ultra features a retractable LiDAR that lowers its height to just 89.5 mm, allowing it to slide under low furniture. This DToF/VersaLift platform enables precise mapping while retracting the prominent LiDAR in tight corners. Equipped with sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms capable of detecting over 180 objects, the L50 Pro Ultra anticipates and avoids obstacles like shoes, cables, and pets, ensuring a cleaning experience free of unpleasant surprises.
With 19,500 Pa of Vormax suction, this robot ranks high in its category. The HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush, a mix of bristles and TPU rubber, promises to capture hair and fur up to 30 cm long without tangling. As confirmed by our in-situ tests with a family whose members have long, thick hair (unfortunately, not your humble narrator) or rapidly shedding fur, this brush indeed prevents any entanglements, a true relief in households with long-haired dwellers.
The EasyLeap system allows the robot to overcome obstacles up to 4 cm high—door thresholds, thick carpets—through new Ninja star wheels. While not as effective as the X50 Ultra’s 6 cm clearance (which requires hooking up to water input and drainage, disqualifying it in many homes), this solution remains very satisfactory for most households. Conversely, the extendable side parts (brush and mop) clean corners and under furniture thoroughly.
The PowerDock station allows for significant autonomy: automatic emptying (up to 100 days), mop washing, automatic water/detergent refill, and thermal drying. Its AceClean plate cleans the mops with 75°C water through high-pressure nozzles. While slightly less than the 80°C of the X50, it’s still more than adequate against bacteria and odors. In short: minimal maintenance for the user, with mops that are clean and effective after each cycle.
The TripleUp Tech technology automatically adjusts the height of components: mops are raised (+10.5 mm) when encountering a carpet, brushes are lowered for powerful suction. It integrates detection of large particles and dirty areas (kibble, sauce) and repeats cleaning as needed.
The L50 Pro Ultra operates with the Dreamehome app (Android/iOS), and is also compatible with Alexa, Google, Siri, and even the Apple Watch. It supports Matter and offers smart features, like detecting and avoiding bowls or sensing the presence of people/pets via the camera. In terms of battery life, a 6,400 mAh battery ensures about 220–230 minutes—cleaning up to 200 m²—before automatically returning to the base.
The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra embodies Dreame’s vision: high-tech innovations at the best price. With impressive suction power, hassle-free anti-hair cleaning, a comprehensive station, and reliable navigation, it competes well with much more expensive models. For households seeking high technology without paying a high price, it’s an incredibly appealing choice.
