Snooze: Time for a Break
Spotify’s latest update introduces the ability for users to temporarily pause tracks they’ve heard too frequently or are simply tired of. Additionally, there are enhancements in how songs are queued and how playlists are managed. Once enabled, the paused song will be removed from recommendations for 30 days. Spotify suggests this is just a short break to freshen up your playlist (as Ross from “Friends” would say, “we were on a break!”).
What’s New?
Beyond Snooze, Spotify has upgraded its queue functionality. Users now have more intuitive access to essential controls like Shuffle, Smart Shuffle, Repeat, and the Sleep Timer. These improvements aim to simplify navigation and customization of listening sessions, whether for random play or repeated listening of favorite tracks.
Spotify has also revamped its ‘Hider’ feature. Now, when a user chooses to hide a track from a playlist, it will automatically be hidden across all devices connected to their account, whether it’s on a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
These new features add to the platform’s ongoing efforts to personalize each user’s experience. From algorithm-generated custom playlists to new queue controls, subscribers now have even greater control over their music library.
While some features like Snooze are currently only available to Premium subscribers, Spotify plans to extend these to more users in the upcoming weeks. Interested users can visit Spotify’s official website for more details on these updates and their availability.
