Design and Build Quality
Both the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra feature a relatively understated design, opting for a matte glass back that minimizes fingerprint smudges. The aluminum frame provides sturdy construction for both models. They each boast an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor is a notable addition to both devices, providing more accuracy than the usual optical sensors. Many Apple users would likely appreciate having this feature on an iPhone.
The F7 Pro is available in black, silver, and blue, while the F7 Ultra comes in black and yellow. Although they are similar in appearance, the F7 Ultra is slightly thicker (8.39 mm versus 8.12 mm) and heavier (212 grams versus 206 grams).
Display and Performance
Both models sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. While the F7 Pro uses Gorilla Glass 7i, the F7 Ultra features a supposedly more durable “POCO Shield Glass.”
In terms of performance, the F7 Pro relies on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, ensuring smooth daily operations. The F7 Ultra steps up with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and up to 16 GB of RAM, offering even better performance, especially for gaming. Neither device has a microSD slot, but they do offer UFS 4.1 storage up to 512 GB.
Camera, Battery Life, and Pricing
The camera setup on the F7 Pro includes a main 50 MP sensor with optical stabilization and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. The F7 Ultra, on the other hand, features a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor, a 32 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP periscopic telephoto lens that provides 2.5x optical zoom.
The F7 Pro’s 6000 mAh battery delivers excellent battery life with 90W fast charging. The F7 Ultra includes a 5300 mAh battery that supports even faster 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
