Sony has introduced a new line of audio products called BRAVIA Theatre, alongside a new television catalog, all aiming to redefine your home cinema experience.
A Glimpse at the New Range
The new BRAVIA Theatre line includes two sound bars, a home cinema system, and a neckband speaker. Labeled as BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 and Bar 8, these sound bars are more slender and stylish compared to their predecessors. Additionally, Sony has integrated their exclusive 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology into these products, promising an immersive audio experience.
BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 and Bar 8
Both the Bar 9 and Bar 8 come with the Sound Field Optimization function, which intelligently adapts the audio to the environment. They also support Acoustic Centre Sync and Voice Zoom 3 function, ensuring precise audio and clear dialogues. The BAR 9 is equipped with 13 speakers, whereas the BAR 8 has 11 speakers. Compatibility with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced is standard across both models, and they offer Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, supporting VRR, ALLM, and 4K at 120 Hz with HDR.
BRAVIA Theatre Quad
The BRAVIA Theatre Quad is a full home cinema system featuring four flat speakers. It harnesses the same audio technology as the sound bars, but adds four additional speakers to the mix (16 total). What makes it particularly innovative is the ability for users to place the speakers anywhere they wish, with audio calibration done wirelessly.
BRAVIA Theatre U
The final product in the lineup is the BRAVIA Theatre U – a neckband speaker for a personal and immersive audio experience. This speaker can be paired with another Theatre U for a shared experience. Equipped with Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound technology, it’s compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It also comes with the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer app, allowing users to adjust the audio based on their ear shape. This lightweight device, weighing just 268 grams, is Bluetooth enabled and offers a battery life of 12 hours.
Sony has yet to announce the pricing for these new products.
